Specimen Collection and Preparation: Fresh urine specimens should be collected directly into the cup. Because the QuikScreen 5 device employs a thermal strip it should be checked immediately after collection to validate urine specimen. SAMHSA regulations specify that any temperature below 90.5 degrees Farenheit must be considered adulterated. No additives or preservatives are required.
NOTE: Urine specimens can be transferred from a urine collection container into the QuikScreen test cup, if necessary.
Drugs tested for in the new QuikScreen test include the five most commonly abused drugs: methamphetamines, amphetines, opiates, cocaine and THC.
As you can see in the chart below, the QuikScreen Test clearly presents results - with ONE line indicating a Positive Result, that drugs were found in the specimen - and TWO lines indicating a Negative Result, that NO drugs were found in the specimen.
An added benefit is that you can also order the QuikScreen test with a built in Adulteration Strip. This is very helpful in testing situations where it is uncomfortable or impossible to watch the specimen being placed in the test cup. Adulterants are substances that are used by drug users to try to mask the presence of drugs in their system during a test.
